Training at a glance
The nursing assistant training programme combines theoretical instruction at our academy with practical training in various healthcare and nursing facilities. The theoretical content covers nursing, medical and social skills required to assist in the care and support of people of all ages. The practical training takes place at different locations and in different areas, including inpatient acute care, inpatient long-term care and outpatient care. You will receive your training contract and a corresponding training allowance from the provider of the practical training.
You are free to choose a training company for your practical training in Berlin. However, we will be happy to advise you on this process and other topics before your training begins.
Duration
The regular training period is 18 months and is divided into at least 1,000 hours of theoretical and practical instruction at our nursing academy and 1,200 hours of practical training in a nursing/health care facility. If you have relevant prior training, such as a completed basic nursing course or several years of professional experience as a caregiver, it is possible to shorten the programme to 12 months after a skills assessment procedure.
